Hair color question what is a toner?

i heard if you get a toner it prevents the hair from going orange





i have light brown with red tones and i really want to go dark blonde.


how can i avoid it turning orange? will the toner work and where can i get oneHair color question what is a toner?
Dye it but add a blue/violet toner to the color. Blue Violet neutralizes Yellow Orange. You can buy them at Sally's beauty supply for about $1 per tube. I always buy about 3 because my hair is long and they are so inexpensive. It gets rid of the orange and brassiness and just lets the pretty blonde come though! :-)





Do not leave the toner on for longer than 20 minutes or it will start to turn your hair the color of the toner!!

PS- Make sure you use a good deep conditioner treatment for a week or two afterwards to help bring your hair back to a healthy state. Coloring can be very damaging!
