Toner and its effects on my natural hair color?

i have naturally blonde hair but it started getting darker, so i dyed it...





i began to hate the upkeep...so i decided to just go natural again...





i know that toner is basically the best thing to use, but what exactly does it do...and if the stylist puts toner in my hair...will it change the natural color so I end up with another line as it grows out?

Toner isn't actually dye.


All it does is even out your hair colour, and in some cases it can take certain tones out of hair slightly, eg if your hair was getting a bit yellow, you would use a silver or violet based toner to get rid of the brassy tones a bit.





Your best bet would to be to just leave it, but if you really want it blonde you are going to have to keep dying it. Maybe use semi-permanent dyes if you dont like having really obvious regrowth, because they fade out before they grow out.
