How can I dispose of empty ink and toner cartridges? Can they be recycled?

Where can I take these cartridges to have them recycled? How can I dispose of empty ink and toner cartridges? Can they be recycled?
When you buy a new one, there should be a recycle bag in the package for your old one to be recycled. It has a mailing address and prepaid postage on it to mail it to a recycling center.

If you don't have a bag like that, then you should be able to just take it to your local recycling center. How can I dispose of empty ink and toner cartridges? Can they be recycled?
i you live on earth just take the cartridge to your local walmart
You can take them to Office Depot. They will recycle them, and with certain brands, will give you a few dollars off your next toner purchase. Other office supply stores might have similar policies, but I usually use Office Depot.
They will spoil your printer,do not get it filled(recycled)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007.
Seems I answer this question every other week.

Office Depot, Office Max, and Staples will all take your empty cartridges.

You can either refill them (at least at Office Max and some Walgreens) for a low price, or just straight out ';donate'; them to the recycle boxes.

Usually there's a bonus, like $1-$3 dollars off coupon for future purchase, sometimes a ream of copier paper, depending on the company.
Staples runs a program for recycling those, bring it in...i think u get a discount on ink cartidges u buy there if u bring in ure old ones for recycling
take them to an office supply store. most of them will dispose of them for you and offer you discounts on new cartridges for each used one you bring in
