Without model number is difficult. Therefore I suggest to use the link given below and download user manual in case if you do not have. MFC or DCP series. If other than this series you can search the web.How do you change the toner on a Brother fax/printer?
I'm not sure what model you have but look on the right side near the front of the printer you will see a button,press it, that should open the front, slide out the old cartridge, take the new cartridge out and grip it on each end and just fairly easily rock the cartridge back and forth, remove the stripe of plastic from the opening and slide it back into the printer, close the printer up, start it up and print away.
